Online Marketing – Google
Firstly, Google is “the” Internet search engine. More searches are performed on Google than double all the all the other search engines combined.
Your website will need to be written in a certain way to allow the Google spiders to trawl your website. It’s complicated but it relates to the separation of textual content from the style of the website and having your website connected together in a way so the spider can reach all of your content. Is their sufficient content on your website that is relevant to your chosen search criteria. All sorts of things will come into this such as ‘keyword density’ & content relevancy to ‘page title’. Basically you need lots of content, yes, lots of it. Google values other websites approval of you above all else. Every website has a Google page ranking. If a website with a high Google page ranking links to you, a well configured link that is, that will bestow there greatness upon you in Google’s eyes, even more so if that website is in a similar field to yourself. Again relevancy is very important.
SEO for Google works in some of the following categories:
- Google adwords
- meta tags
- content and keyword density
- linking and relevancy
Google Adwords are placed on the right side of a Google search results page. You write your own ads, and select which words you want your ads to be displayed for. You then assign a $ amount (referred to as cost per click, or CPC) you are willing to pay for each time someone clicks on your ad. The higher the amount you assign, the higher the chance of your ad appearing at the top of the list. It's kind of like an auctioning system. Trial and error is the best way to determine how high your CPC should be. Your ad will be displayed on the search results page of Google for free!! You'll only pay if someone clicks on your ad, so effectively you only pay for qualified leads.
You can also set a daily budget. So to get started, if you wanted to spend a little, you could set that budget, and once you reach that, your ads will not be displayed anymore.
